Once you’ve picked the dildo for you, you will want to know how to get the most out of it. The last thing you need is a dildo breakdown, so we’ve crafted this guide to help you clean and maintain your new dildo so it will be a feature of your playtime for a long time!
HOW DO I CLEAN MY DILDO?
Cleaning a dildo from Sexy Emporium is super easy!
First, prepare a bowl of warm, soapy water.
Second, submerge your dildo and clean thoroughly in the warm soapy water using your hands of a lint free cloth.
Some of our dildos have extra details, such as veins, creases and contours, so make sure you take your time to clean the difficult spots.
Once cleaned, leave to air dry.
You can use antibacterial sex toy cleaner; however, this will cost you more money than warm soapy water and produces the same results.
Please make sure you never use any household cleaners or detergents as they can cause skin irritations.
HOW DO I MAINTAIN MY DILDO?
Maintain your dildo doesn’t need to be difficult. By cleaning your dildo correctly after each use, carefully storing it properly and by sticking to the correct lubricants, your dildo will last a very long time.
Certain sex toy renewal powders can be applied to your dildo to give it that lifelike feel again.
If you do notice that your sex toy is breaking, tearing or doesn’t work the same as before, dispose of it immediately and consider replacing or upgrading.
HOW SHOULD I STORE MY DILDO?
Storing sex toys can be a bit of a fuss. Although they’re body-safe, they can react with each other or the environment if they’re not stored properly. Always store your dildo in a cool, dark and dry place and never leave sex toys touching each other.
WHAT LUBRICANTS CAN I USE WITH MY DILDO?
This completely depends on the material used to make the dildo.
As a rule, water-based lubricants are safe to use on all sex toys.
Hybrid (water-silicone mixed) are generally safe for use on all sex toys, unless it says otherwise on the bottle.
Silicone and Oil based lubricants cannot be used on silicone sex toys.
Our advice would be to stick with water or hybrid lubricants when using sex toys, and reserve oil and silicone based lubricants for using on your own body when performing penetration.
